As a lover of books, my dream is to one day own a library for my own. And while I believe that anyone who has even a small collection of books contains their own library, having a room dedicated to my books is the absolute dream. I am planning on DIY-ing my future library one day and my hope is for it to look a little like this.

I have seen a few videos of people creating celestial libraries, but no surprise I’m sure, I’d like to do things my own way (as would we all). My ultimate dream library would be to have floor-to-ceiling, dark-stained bookshelves, complete with corner shelves and everything. I haven’t decided what the color of the walls would be, but the ceiling would be a dark blue with gold stars all over. The trim on the ceiling would have a bit of gold painted on, and there would be a magical esc light fixture in the middle. I would have maps of far-off worlds (that don’t exist), swords hung from the walls and soft rugs on the light hardwood floor.
Ideally on one wall, there would be a bay window where I place my old chair and tea table. If it didn’t have a bay window, I might keep the chair and table by a window or place them both in the center of the room. It would have a secret door, so no one but me knew where it was.
But the best part would be that if or whenever I gain nieces or nephews and they come over, they would find this secret room. And once I found out that they knew, I’d leave little gifts for them, leaving them to wonder where they came from, in hopes of showing them the magic that can come about in reading.
