As I steadily become more adult-like, you better bet your bottom dollar that I’ve been dreaming up plans for my dream house one day.
Ideally, it would be by a lake or the ocean, complete with ocean-themed décor. But I don’t plan to be moving any time soon and I am very, very landlocked. So, the next best thing is to base my home décor on the ocean itself. However, I am in love with the cottage-core aesthetic so obviously going to be adding some of that to my ocean home as well.
Here are a few reference photos I found on Pinterest. I would love to live in a cottage (obviously) with a balcony on the second floor. There are a few elements in a new home that I would absolutely love to have. Those would be a large porch with a porch swing, enough space to have a dedicated library and art studio, tons and tons of windows, and space in the yard for my dream/whimsical garden. Essentially, I want to live in a garden, with all the greenery coming into the house. I would love to have a Dutch door and windows like these. Oh, to open them in the morning, with the sun (or rain) streaming in and not have anywhere to go. I can live life slowly and simply. It sounds quite wonderful! 😀
