Inspiring Music

I love listening to music, though I must admit there are only a few genres that I stick with. I’ve got my worship music, my contemporary Jesus music, some jazz, and instrumental fantasy. The latter is what I listen to while creating.

Peter Crowley and Brunuhville mostly make up that very long and exciting playlist. There is something about it that helps me find my groove. I love the fantasy genre, whether that be reading or watching or listening to it. There’s something so splendid about looking into another person’s imagination and seeing what could become of it. I find great inspiration for my own stories or artwork from it. Literally anything can happen and it’s not weird. Your possibilities are endless!

Some of my favorite songs by Peter Crowley include:

  • Escaping the Kraken
  • Dance of the Sun
  • The Enchantress White
  • The Legendary Sword
  • Medieval Fair
  • Conqueror of the Sea

Songs by Brunuhville that I enjoy are:

  • Rising Sun
  • Spirit of the Wild
  • Timeless
  • Winds of Conquest

Fantasy elements appear quite frequently in my art and Mr. Crowley and Brunuhville certainly help bring it to life.

Even though this is what I stick with, the music I listen to will sometimes affect the message I convey in my art and sometimes, epic fantasy instrumental isn’t my go-to. Sometimes I’ll pick movie soundtracks to listen to.

A few favorites include:

  • Mr. Magorium’s Wonder Emporium
  • How To Train Your Dragon
  • Finding You
  • Because of Winn Dixie
  • Finding Neverland

I particularly love listening to all of these songs on shuffle! I just think it’s so exciting how the next song is one you don’t expect!
